I agree the numbers seem to include dependents. I mean while looking at EB2 numbers you can see average 1000 - 1500 applications per month which translates to roughly 400 - 700 primary applications (labor) filed each month. That looks reasonable.

You missed my point entirely. The better thing for everybody is to decouple the namecheck from the green card so that the name check can go on for as long as the FBI desires while you get the green card which can be revoked if the name check fails. To get a large government agency to spin their wheels faster so that some foreigners benefit in a post 9/11 world is a lunatic and impractical way of thinking.

Even with BG checks if wrong people enter, how worse it would be - even if it is just an "interim GC" - without full BG checks. No sane citizen of any country would buy that kind of argument for his or her country. Rather, if you say 'I would pay for you to do your job better', then

They are overwhelmed by the demand and limited by staff numbers. Help them to increase their efficiency by adding more numbers to their staff. Similar arguments went thru the Congress like a cakewalk when USCIS recommended increase in visa/immigration fees: "more fees, more revenue, more employees, more productivity". With CIS, i have no hope for any intrinsic improvement anytime soon even with more millions. But one can still have hopes on FBI.
With few 100,000 new applicants in the past 2 months, it would be a joke to ask FBI to skip the BG check and give them all GC. It is going to be more sadder joke on us, when this flood of new applicants start pulling down the name check process to oblivion. There are going to be more people among the new applicants stuck with BG checks in the next 2-4 years than ever had been.

This is the email I just received from CapitalOne:

I'm not getting this. If DOS/USCIS wants to retrogress the current dates then why they will wait for july2nd or 3rd. As they know people will file their applications by 29th june or they will try to deliver their applications by 2nd of july. So,if this rumour is really true then they would have posted revised bulletin in this week only , latest by today only, so that people will stop filling applications. So guys relax and keep doing whatever you were doing and file your applications by 2nd july.

I got the CPO email today for both my wife and I.

Asked my congressman to inquire on 8/12

After so many countries who receive major immigrant influx like UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand have implemented a points based system why on earth lawmakers here don't wake-up. In a post-crisis world if US does not regain the old economic supremacy we'll see expatriate population redirecting itself.

very interesting thread ..it is more interesting than the other famous thread "how to get your maid to USA" ..no wonder some senior core members are disappointed because no one cares about other threads which talk about recapture and other campaigns.
the only point about renting the house is that it has many pitfalls too ...one of my friends tried that and he is a full time businessman ...problem is many people stop paying rent after 4-5 months ...it happened in his case plus the tenant painted the house in red and green colors.. In US it is not very easy to evict the tenant ..you have to go to court etc etc (so it is sort of full time job).
on top of it ..how do you make sure that 3-4 families are not staying in the house ...i.e. u rent it to 1 person and that person reduces his rent by renting it to 2-3 families ,... these few points are the problems that you face by renting

I am also July 2nd filer with no checks being cashed yet, and no other activities around my case. What can we do when the waiting period is over 90 days???
I believe, USCIS has a formal method of investigation. You or your lawyer will have to give details whatever USCIS asks for. In a normal course, this would have been done a lot sooner, but USCIS themselves admit that they are not yet finished with all July2-Aug17 receipts. Perhaps they will not entertain any formal investigations until they are done with all filings.
I am one of the July2 (J Barret, 10:25am) filers on the waiting, and I know the anxiety we all have. You can write to your Congressman, but think of how USCIS is going to respond to the intervention. They will tell that they are not yet finished with all receipts.

My 485 was filled in June 2004 and I got married in Dec 2004. NOw I need to file I-485 for my wife. I have couple of questions.Any help is welcome.
1. Can I file her I-485 without medical/Immunization?
2. What will happen if my GC is approved before we can file her papers?
3. What are my options if the 2nd come true?

I-485 inventory means number of 485 apps they have received or in their DB. ( simple )
I don't think USCIS will( should ) worry about the PERM applications/140-approved applications.IMHO that' be fortune-telling business for USCIS, that so many PERM/140 approvals will directly result into so many 485 applications.
I'm know USCIS trumped us before, but If I were to bet, I'd bet that these are straight-record count off their 485 applications.
