So Samsung believed Apple was violating it's patents all this time but decided to do nothing about it. Now that they have been pushed they decide to act. Sounds to me they are trying to find whatever they can to bite back at Apple.
When a customer walks into your store with $2000 to purchase your goods, are you going to call the cops when he walks into your store naked?
No. Your just going to suck it up and let the man pay you the $2000 and let him leave.

People were talking about proof...
From Wikipedia
Utilitarian arguments against torture
There is a strong utilitarian argument against torture; namely, that there is simply no scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness.[96]
The lack of scientific basis for the effectiveness of torture as an interrogation techniques is summarized in a 2006 Intelligence Science Board report titled "EDUCING INFORMATION, Interrogation: Science and Art, Foundations for the Future".[97]
Those favoring torture have however pointed to some specific cases where torture has elicited true information.[98]

That last one hardly sounds empirical.

My realistic daily driver with a unrealistic engine swap.
A4 Avant Ultrasport with a 1.8T 6speed Manual. Then TDI swap.
The TDI would bolt up to everything from the 1.8T A4, but I have no idea how, if at all, the ECU from the TDI would talk to the cluster and the rest of the car. The long 6speed gearing would be like a "sporty" TDI gear. About 2200 RPM at 100KM/h, not horrible, just a tad above my friends TDI Jetta.

It'd be more appropriate to say he's letting the book do the talking for him.
Either way, linking some overused passage lends absolutely nothing to this discussion or any like it. So what's the point of reviving the thread with it? All it does is show that this person can't speak for himself (or herself).

What's in it for me? Seriously, the owner of Macrumors makes $100K plus off this site (so much that he quit his job AS A DOCTOR.) Why should I give blood just to glorify the name of his website & make him richer?
What's in it for me?
I can't work out if humour was intended with this comment?
You can give blood and not tell anyone about it. Neither you nor MacRumors will get the glory, but you will have that small warm and fuzzy feeling inside. :)

The tech at the Cingular store told me it would be next year before 5 will appear. Not sure how reliable that is or where he got his info. I asked him how sure of that he was. He stated he was very sure.
He knows about as much as the rest of us.
Actually, if he was claiming to know, he knows less than the rest of us.

I'll always remember Serlet for his hilarious presentation of Mac OS X Tiger at WWDC.. "Redmond, start your photocopiers" :)
Haha, ya. The Snow Leopard intro was pretty funny too!
He cracks me up, he has a very asymmetrical face hehe :)
I seem to recall Craig Federighi demoing Mac OS X Lion and he did a good job. Slightly nervous shaky hands but a watchable presenter.
He got nervous because the gestures for Lion don't work very well on the Magic Mouse. Go back and watch it, he was fine up until that point!
I was sitting there thinking... great, the gestures don't even work for them, how practical or they going to be for everyone when Lion is released? I think they are going to push hard toward the Magic TrackPad from now on. That is fine for casual use, but not when I am doing my pro work like making movies and media etc. :(
They really need to redesign the Magic Mouse to give you more gesture area if it is going to stick around! It is just not practical for anything above 2 fingers, and even that is iffy sometimes!

Bah Humbug to all the unbelievers!
Apple know Vista's been coming for years, so they'll have Leopard ready. They've been working on the iPhone since before Tiger, so it's not like their R+D is suddenly going to drop in Mac development.
All of this 'what about the Mac' stuff is a little harsh. If Steve's got an Octo-Core Mac Pro coming in a few weeks, then he's not going to say so now.
Also, if Leopard isn't ready yet, and will be out in a few months, then not mentioning it is an awesome mind game. Bill gates was propbrably watching going "Uh...but- Vista and, err... what?"
Just have faith.
If nothing's changed in three months then quote me and pelt me with rotten fruit.
MA.

I would still estimate that there are many more FCP installs in use than Avid.
If you look at the industry as a whole there are but the higher up the food chain you go the fewer FCP seats you see. These numbers are from a couple of years ago but from what I remember FCP had about 50% of the market and Avid had 25% or 30%. A survey of A.C.E. members (American Cinema Editors), who mainly work on 'Hollywood' TV shows and movies, taken around the same time showed that about 80% of members used Avid while about 10% used FCP.
For feature films and television these days, Final Cut is ABSOLUTELY the industry standard. Oh and in the 8 years I've lived in Hollywood, I never met one person in the industry who uses a Windows PC (maybe a writer or two).
No, it's not and people do use PCs although Macs are typically much more common in the creative fields than in the general population.

If both your son and his gal are over 18, then yes. If you think about it, you don't really have that much say in the matter. If he wants to, he's a consenting adult. However, if you don't want him to, then just hint that you're not happy with it
