I checked with 2 different sets of lawyers to make sure that my new position was compatible with my approved labor job description. It helped that the original job description was pretty general.
Additionally I made sure my new job description was a superset of my labor job description. Therefore although my compensation, responsibilities and job title have changed substantially, I was able to keep it backward compatible.
There are two other things that have helped:
1) The labor department does not have a classification for the job title I currently have since it is a hybrid business and technology role. It can fall under either Marketing or Engineering.
2) There has been no RFE in my case. I have reason to believe it has been pre-approved based on an Info Pass visit during 2008.
There are creative options for people who are enterprising and do not want to take being stuck in the same job for ever. Personally, I would take this risk all over again if I had to.

we may win the battle and all hold receipts soon, then lose the war as we settle in to wait 10 agonizing years for a gc. please think about it, long and hard.

I mean, it is ok to jump on to such a thread once in a while, but lets not behave in an insane manner every time someone receives a receipt, gets check cashed, or when someone's child has a bad dipper.
Why it is not a surprise that people are not ready to post youtube videos but have all the time in the world to discuss useless details of the mail room handling? This behavior is sickening.

Dear friends,
My lawyer applied for my and my wife's EAD and AP along with 485 application. I am not sure if he waited to get some tracking number for 485 application before he applied for EAD and AP.
Will this cause any issue if he sent everything in one shot?

I am also in the same boat. I am a Physical Therapist and finished my credentialing and license exams while on H4. now just waiting for the EAD. our file is with NSC filed in June. and looks like NSC filers have wait for some time to get their EADs. I am guessing October 2007. those with TSC are getting their EADs approved faster. well good luck to all of you. i hope the wait is over soon.

My wife had offers from other states. But we chose to live together and pursue opportunities later. It all comes down to personal choice.
If you are flying that frequently, consider donating some of those miles to IV. Core team members could use them for the trips to DC.

Dear friends, did anyone visit Hawaii? I am trying to find out if you need to have passport/visa to visit Hawaii. I know it is an outlying territory of US and so can you travel with valid ID/drivers license instead of carrying passport? I don't have a H1 stamped in my passport.

Does anyone have a link to a USCIS doc that discusses how soon one is "supposed to" and "required to" return to US while on AP ?
I recently heard (may be a roumor) that an indian woman (dependant) was told at the airport that being out of US for so long (3-4 months) means she has abandoned the GC process. she then requested to talk to the supervisor who reviewed all the docs and allowed her into US.
This may very well be a roumor, but I am wondering if there is any USCIS memo or doc that talks about this, even if just a guideline and not a rule.:rolleyes:

The bigger issue is if i don't get my EAD before 11/05/2010 my TX license will be canceled even though the DL doesn't expire till 05/2014. I need take exam and driver test again after 11/05/2010.
I guess we need to explain this situation to the right people to correct this. Where to start?
