I guess we need to except more of this in the years to come.
I called the USCIS this morning for my receipt numbers, USCIS person said we have lot of applications,you have to wait 3 months to get receipt notice since you applied. My application sent to the Lawyer June 1st, The stupid Lawer took 19 days to read my application, lawyer sent my application on june 19th.

It is a fact that we are supposed to carry our proof of legal documents.
I always carry a "scanned pdf" of my latest approval notice and I 94 in my iphone. I will strongly recommend everyone to do at least this.
I know a friend who carries a "miniature copy" of approval and I 94 in his valet.

I read that USCIS office in Irving, TX doesn't renew the I-94. An office in seattle airport and one in JFK airport does this as per some of the online sources. Or one can travel outside the country and renew it while entering.
I-94 with parolee stamp is a valid document to renew license for one year in Texas. This is one of the categories mentioned in Texas license guide for temporary visitors.
I have already wasted my $340 in applying for an EAD which i will never use. I hope i get it in time to renew my license.

hi puding, i am also in the same boat as yours, I need to travel to India during nov 3rd week. I have efiled my AP at nebraska on aug 6th and i am seriously if i will get my AP before that. i have already booked my tickets, and concerned, if i will not get this AP. with the ticket prices these days, even if we postpone/cancel, we lose so much money on top of the AP money that we paid to USCIS. this does not make sense at all. I am going to say this loud, PAPPU or ANY IV admins, can you please help us in this.
I had applied for my 4th AP renewal on May 24th thru e-filing at Nebraska Center. Sent the supporting documents on 05/27 and since then my case is pending with initial review with a soft LUD on 05/28/2010. Mean while, my dad in India is not doing well. I got the doctors letter and other medical reports and took an infopass appointment in Irving, TX location. I was told that this particular USCIS office does not issue travel documents and there is nothing that they could do. I was advised to call the 1-800 number and request to expedite the application. I promptly called the 1-800 number and a nice representative took my information and created a SR for me and told I would hear in 5 days. This happened on Friday 07/16. This morning I got an email which is little confusing
It says LIN-10-8xx-xxxxx Before your application/petition can be expedited your BIOS will have to be done. Does this mean I need to get my biometrics done? If so, will I get a notice for this? I had sent my photos along with the application supporting documents.
Has anyone seen this in the past? Would appreciate very much if you can share your experience.

When I filed my AP on line ( e filing) I got it in 7 days , because my expected travel date was within 15 days of my application.
If your travel date as mentioned is very nearer , then they process fast, whether it is paper application or e filing.
Applied (AP - 131) on Aug 21st - Approved on Sep 25th. Both myself and spouse.
Yet to receive AP in mail. Total processing time - 34 days.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I hope you are all doing great, well settled, happy that you got the receipt notice and EAD and can change jobs. The July USCIS/DOS drama and IV/AILA/Lofgren fight back was an event that is unforgettable, especially based on the fact that these events have changed a lot of our lives.
I have been with IV for more than an year now and have followed the organization's direction and views. I found this to be a very nobel organization, an organization where seeds are sown for betterment of lives.
My biggest thanks to members who have done selfless help. Amazing people. Excellent qualities. Team spirit. We worked as teams for various action items, became very good friends, had our own fun when we interacted.
Time has come for the entire community to stand up and act. IV, as an organization, is well respected in the DC circles. IV has maintained its "Non commercial" stance and has believed in grass roots efforts.
IV is nothing but people like you and me. Believe in yourself. Have faith in yourself. History has proven that bravery, courage and faith have been the weapons behind success. Yes, we can move mountains - we have it in us. We can do things, only if we believe in ourselves.
I work as a contractor in a small company in New Jersey. I was a bit reluctant initially to ask my client for a day off - as I had already taken 15 days off in August. But I gathered enough courage and talked about the rally to my boss and offered that I will make up the hours. My boss is a Korean immigrant, immediately acknowledged and said "It's fine, I am supportive of your cause - I see that you have been here for 8 years now and still fighting the system that does not look fair".
I am happy that I spoke the truth, I am happy that my boss has agreed wholeheartedly to my request. I have believed in myself all along.
My dear friends - America does not see tears, America is a land of the brave - America has been a favorite destination to all. The very fact that there are 300K July petitions - is an example on how much people still want to be here. And if you all believe that so many petitions will be processed without making any effort from our side, or if you think someone else will do it or if you pray God that and assume God will take care, then I would only say "God bless you".
If we all step up for our basic rights of processing our petitions in a timely and orderly manner - then yes we can see changes - always remember, it is people like you and me that will influence a change. Unless we stand up together and ask - nothing is goin g to happen. America has honored people who have stood for themselves - America has produced great leaders, all these people have stood up for themselves.
IV would like all its members to participate in the Rally and make it a big success. Lets show that we are committed to our cause and we are all united and we can rise in unity for any occasion.

Im not an expert in this, but my opinion for you is to stay put in the company. The company health insurance will pay for your expenses and you can take long leave of absence with full pay. Stay on their payroll. If you leave the company, your own private insurance will be too much to afford. So don't quit and fight it out. Best wishes for an early recovery.

Yes, It does show on the Case status. And if you have a portflio created and have alerts setup, you will also receive an e-mail notification if there is hard LUD change about the Case like RFE, Decision, denial etc etc..

Hi everybody,
our 140 is approved in 2006. in july 2007 we applied for 485. eb3 priority date 2005 india. right now i am on h1 only. its going to expire in march. we got ead for 2 more years.
Right now i am in a confused state that shall i apply for h1 extension or shall i change to ead with out extending of h1 that is my question. my dependents also dont have any h1.
what are the - ve points if i dont extend my h1 visa and staying on ead . what are the benifits staying on h1 . please let me know .
may be some threads is there regarding this but i dont understand how to search .
my mother and father in law are going for visitors visa stamping soon using my status. is that ok sending them using my ead for stamping.
please direct me in a correct path. thank you.

I see the point of renewal of H1B for safety to work but somewhere in some forums i had read that your existing H1B may also get effected if your 485 is denied. it depends on how the IO interprets your 485 denial.
I am not sure , but if it is true then extending H1B maybe totally useless, rather a negative because you ended up using all your 6 years on h1 and have no way to apply for a fresh one which you would have had the opportunity otherwise too if you were on EAD before finishing 6 years on H1b..

Using AP does not invalid your H1-B status. Next time you apply for H1-B extension you automatically come back on H1-B from paroled status (that's what my attorney told). Yeah during paroled time probably you may not switch to different employer on H1-B.
I did not ask my attorney before leaving for India about H1b stamping as I had to travel immediately. He told me later (after I got stuck in admin processing) that he would not had suggested to go for stamping.

In Title 6(Not sure which section) of the Bill Reported out by SJC, it was clearly mentioned that people coming in on the Guest Worker Program will not be able to get their GCs before the people who have already applied for their GC in FB and EB get their GCs except if they have to wait for more than 6 years.
Assuming that all of us will get our GCs with 6 years (A Big Assumption!!), the people in the guest worker program will get it only after us. So the delay due to them will not be much but it would still be there given the sheer numbers.
Each time politicians say something like this we have to take it with a truckload of salt. There is no way they can implement that rule.
Further they have not said anything about per country quota and the time it is taking for people from certain countires. Thus illegals from India(few) may be after legal indians(many) and illegal hondurans(many)may be after legal hondurans(few). However the net result may be that ILLEGAL hondurans and other illegal ROW folks may end up BEFORE legal immigrants from heavily backlogged countries.
Mexicans will be taken care of by AgJobs and Temporary worker programs. So we have to be careful when we hear this sort of thing.

it is really useful for EB based immigrants ... I have seen all your posts before. All you seem to be concerned with is the DREAM act and illegal immigrants. Who are you and what does this post has anything to do with our GC wait times.
Don't worry about that guy... he is already 50-60 year old and the govt has been trying to deport him for almost 10 years. He would be 100 years old before the govt finally decides to deport him. This govt is slower than a snail .
