The only reason I used that term was to reflect their market image when it comes to 'Vendor1'.
I have seen and heard only the following.
1. The client treats Vendor 1 like a piece of crap on their face. If Vendor 1 has bribed the hiring manager, the hiring manager does not mistreat Vendor 1.
2. Vendor 1 treats Vendor 2 like a piece of crap on their face.
3. Everyone treats a consultant like a piece of crap on thier face.
4. The only one who respects Vendor 1 is Vendor 1.

Hello All,
My wife and I got married recently in september few days after my labor was approved.We were going to get married in 2007 but my lawyers recommended getting married before filing GC applications together. She is one of retrogession victims in EB3-World. I am in the EB2-World queue and my company is planning to apply for both I140 and I485 concurrently in the following week(s). However my wife and I have been living in different states for over a year now and she thinks we might have an issue because of that. I was wondering if anybody in the similar situation had any issues.

You do not need to be in job now. But at the time of receiving GC(Or if you are called for interview) you need to be in a similar job in any company. One of my friend he was out of job for 2 years(doing business) after filing I485. USCIS called for interview. His lawyer advised to get a job and postpone the interview. He got a job within 6 months and rescheduled the interview and got gc. In his case also GC sponsored company supported him to get the GC as he had excellent relationship. It happened 5 years ago.
U are now giving great advices and information :) Your information is really helpful. You also participated in the Admin fix campaign and sent your letters though you already have ur GC - I am personally happy to see the 'Winds of Change' :)

Just curious - If it was delievered on June 15th but the Receipt date is July, 12th, doesn't it mean that they will treat your application per the July Visa bulletin and not per the June Visa bulletin?
(wondering why they didn't put June 15th as the receipt date and July 12th as notice date)

My application was sent on June 29th with USPS certified mail. there is kno way the application can be delivered on the same day.
Also my tracking no. shows it was deliverd 12.45 pm july 02
But i could get hold of copy of delivery which my lawyer got as proof of delivery signed on June 29
Nobody knows how come.
I am worried if they are going to treat my application received on June 29.
USPS customer service told me the person who signed the delivery might have not changed the date on stamp since it was weekend.
I am consused .
Has anybody checked actual signed copy of their delivery?

Nothing happened to them...Their call volume went up heavily...
They would have approved cases in some order, if something happened to them...
Calls will not move your case anywhere... Its just luck, pure and simple...

I applied for a new passport(as my 10 year validity is expiring in Jan 2008) at CGI NY in person on 10/04/2007 along with my wife's passport. My wife's passport got renewed within 3 working days(She applied for name change in 2003) but mine did not. Apparently, CGINY needs to get clearence from India(Hyderabad) so that these guys can give me a new passport.
Long story short, the customer service people at CGINY are not quite helpful in getting me the information. These guys don't really know what is going on with my application. I could get some info from India. When I got my passport for the first time(Hyderabad), the records were not computerized and so, these guys at CGINY dont have any information about my passport records.
Passport offices in India will get a request for clearence from abroad if anyone applies for renewal(and the applying person's records are not computerized) and Indian office has to verify the records and send the clearence. It has been close to 2 months since I applied and I even went for an interview with the consular in NY. Even this guy doesn't want to give me any time line.
The funny thing is, whenever I call CGINY to request status, they always ask me to come for an interview. When I ask them what the interview is related to, then they always reply me that the consular can give more information like status. I am not sure why these people can't give out the info. What we are ramblimg here about does not fall on the ears of those that are in power.
We have met the congressmen and senators. But to no avail. They act like they care, but in reality, they are more interested in the positions they hold, rather than help us out. They will enact laws that will get them votes, not laws that help those that cannot yet vote.
So, how about each of us sending a letter to the white house, every day for a week. The whole exercise will cost less than $10 for us. But the volume of mail received at the White House might make our voices heard. At least, it might get us some interim benefit.
I suggest that the IV core come out with a draft letter, that all of us can print out with our names on it, and mail them. I know it is not going to get to the President, but at least his deputies might whisper a word in his ear about the volume, and he might want to read one of those letters.

Even if my i-485 gets approved before she is here, i can still bring her on follow-to-join, as i got married before the approval of my 1-485, right? Why would it take 3-4 years to bring her here if i go through the follow-to-join route. My understanding is that follow-to-join takes somewhere btw 6-12 months. If i had gotten married after the approval of my i-485 then yes, it would have taken 3-4 years to bring her here. Can somebody confirm this. Thanks!

It would be better to consult your attorney. It seems we are using generic terms to describe an extremely technical process e.g. when I say you can add her to your application, what I mean is she can use your PD date for 485 for her 485 filing.

I recently got my passport renewed in DC. I went exactly on appointment day to submit application, I was asked to come back after 5 days to pick it up which i did. Everything was smoth.
I feel if you do your part of job correctly then it makes consulate staff's job easier to do their job. We should try to change ourself by not blaming consulte staff of every thing. Indians are ready to follow all rules when it comes to dealing with americans but want to bend rules when dealing wiht fellow countrymen.

At least we can support this particular proposal which is in tune with IVs philosophy of ending retrogression. Our support can be limited to this specific proposal.
Members are concerned as it's just not a trial baloon. It's actually getting discussed by House subcommitee on Immigration. We see anti-immigrant groups participating and testifying against the proposal, where as no such activity from pro-Immigration groups such as IV. It's imperative that members are impatient in knowing IVs official position on this proposal (whatever it may be!)
As you can see from the responses here, that a number of members (some openly others not) are worried about the PG campaign to torpedo the IEEE proposal. Members are interested in knowing IVs official stand ( oppose/support/neutral) on this proposal which can affect the lives of ALL members here positively, if enacted.
I request IV to come up with an 'official position' - soon - to end the confusion. We (members) need to know where we stand on this proposal as a group.
I DO NOT support the actions of members posting their own 'Action Items' without prior consultation with IV. I'm appreciative of the yeomans service IV is doing to our cause. And will support whatever official position IV takes on the proposal.

The original offer should be valid at the time of filing 485. If it is not your 485 can be rejected.
Now USCIS may never ask you that question, their common RFE is current EVL, and the 485 may still get approved.

CIR is for reform but if they pass it without consideration to legals then the system will get swamped !!
I dont think lawmakers do this mistake again, before fixing legal system. Even if they do, i dont think illegals agree (not sure if they have the power to disagree) to join in line on a broken system.

I do not know why people want to complicate things from their side. This is one time opportunity for hundreds of thousands of people.
Do not move until your FP is complete or wait till atleast you get the receipt number.
So, do we get receipt number and FP notice simultaneously or do we get FP notice after some days/months? If we get after some days/months of rececipt notice, then what we can do is "we will give address of our employer, so that employer will get the receipt, and when we move we can do change of address so that FP notice will come to my new address".. Is this possible?
