The Beckhams Attend the Cars 2 Premier

By: SunnyChanel of Babble

As I walking through the lobby of the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood over the weekend at the Cars 2 premiere (yup, got to go to the Cars 2 premiere!!!), I almost walked smack dab into a very pregnant woman, her husband and kids. Fortunately I caught my balance before we collided. But this wasn’t just any husband and wife. It was none other than Victoria Beckham, David Beckham and their three sons Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo.

There were three big things to note about this super star family:
1) The kids are absolutely adorable.

2) David Beckham is even more handsome in person.

3) And Victoria Beckham is very very pregnant.

After the flick the super star family hit the amazing after-party in the back of the theater. And this wasn’t just any after-party. This star studded event had games, rides, slides, oodles of food and cars…lots and lots of cars. A very cozy Becks and Posh took their sons to a slew of the attractions looking every bit a lovely and loving family.

There has been talk about how skinny and thin Victoria Beckham with this pregnancy with her fourth child, but seeing her first hand, she looked like a normal, healthy, very large bellied being…who just happened to be wearing four inch Louboutins. Her dress was a mini and was a tent style, but as she stood there watching her kids play she rubbed her belly. The star is due in about two weeks and it was very sweet to see her doting on her children during their last month of being a family of five.

One of the things the boys seemed to really enjoy was where they could paint an old car.

David Launches Samsung's 2012 Olympic Campaign

As one of the world's most famous sportsmen, David Beckham is used to being center stage. But next year the English soccer star is looking forward to being "a fan" in what he tells CNN will be "one of the best, if not the best Olympics of all time."

Beckham has been a key backer of the event and was present as an official ambassador in Singapore in 2005 when London was handed the Olympics for the third time -- becoming the first city to do so in the modern era. He remained coy about his possible involvement with Team GB, preferring to focus on his nomination of 18-year-old Gabriella Roseje as one of 8,000 torch bearers for the pre-Olympics relay next year.

"My goal is first I want to be a fan at the Olympics and support our Team GB to win as many medals, to win as many gold medals, and to make our country proud, which they will do because we've got so many great young athletes that have been around for a while," Beckham, also an ambassador for 2012 sponsor Samsung, told CNN.

"So, it's an exciting time, and with my involvement I just want to be a part of it. For it to be in the East End of London is a proud moment for myself, and to be there with my sons, possibly my daughter, my wife, it's going to be a proud moment for not only myself but for many people in this country."

Beckham said people like Roseje, from the south-east London area of Bermondsey, represented a bright future for British sport. "It's what she does for other people is one of the reasons I've sat up and taken notice in the special things that she's done," he said.

"It's young people like Gabriella that are going to be inspired by the Olympics in our country. People are going to be looking at Gabriella thinking, 'How can I achieve what she's achieving, how can I do something that she's doing by helping so many young people? Not just athletes but kids around the world and especially in the UK, what she is doing for her charity and what she is doing for young kids. These kids look up to this young lady and that's inspiring. That's what the Olympics can do, not just in this country but all around the world, and that's why our country will make this Olympics one of the best, if not the best Olympics of all time."

Beckham said he is happy in the United States, where he plays for Los Angeles Galaxy and lives with his wife Victoria, sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz -- and his imminent first daughter.

"I've had such an exciting career so far ... when it will end, who knows. I continue to enjoy my football like I'm doing, I love playing. Until that changes, then I'll continue to play whether that will be here or in the U.S. I'm enjoying my time playing for the Galaxy and have no reason to move anywhere else."

Beckham is still a regular visitor to the UK, and was a guest at the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton in April. "They're an amazing couple that a month ago made our country so proud to see their amazing occasion," he said. "To have watched Prince Harry and Prince William grow up from such a young age and go through what they have gone through -- it was such an amazing occasion for our country. To be part of that was incredible."

Before his mini-Victoria enters the world in a few short weeks, David Beckham is spending as much time as he can with his sons before they all are helping mommy change diapers, feed, and hold the newest addition.

Here are photos from David's day out with his sons yesterday. They attended a childrens tournament in LA and looks like they had a ton of fun.

I love photos like this of David toying around with little Cruz. He looks like he's such a fun dad and the boys eat up every minute! So adorable!

Rumor of the Day: David to Stay as Galaxy Coach After Contract Ends this Year

By Tom Hopkinson of The People

David Beckham will be offered the chance to stay on as a player-coach at Los Angeles Galaxy when his five-year deal expires in November.

Becks, 36, reaches the end of the huge contract he signed when he left Real Madrid for LA in 2007, at the end of the current MLS Season.

The Galaxy will offer Beckham the chance to play on for another term, while also taking more of a role in Bruce Arena’s backroom team.

And the new deal would allow Beckham to return to European football from January to April next year.

Beckham spent three months training with Tottenham last season and had spells at AC Milan in the previous two seasons.

Beckham and his advisors have had initial discussions over his future, but nothing has yet been finalised. As People Sport revealed back in 2009, Beckham has a clause in his MLS contract which lets him buy a franchise once he hangs up his boots.

And he and Simon Fuller – who looks after Beckham’s business affairs – are still keen for that to happen.

WWD: David Beckham Takes his Shot

Brand it like Beckham.

That’s what David Beckham and his business partner, Simon Fuller, are gearing up to accomplish this year with the launch of a men’s bodywear line, a new men’s fragrance from license partner Coty Inc. and a number of other projects on the drawing board — all capitalizing on the global commercial appeal of the world’s best-known soccer star.

The L.A. Galaxy midfielder has been busy working with a design team for his long-rumored bodywear line, confirmed Beckham to WWD. The new fragrance, called Homme by David Beckham, will be in stores this September. It joins existing scents David Beckham Instinct, which launched in 2005, and Intimately Beckham, a his-and-hers duo with wife Victoria Beckham, which was introduced in 2006.

It’s not my natural inclination to see myself as a brand, I’m just a person who has been fortunate to explore other interests and passions outside of the game I love,” said Beckham of his upcoming off-field ventures with Fuller. “I will always be associated with my sport but I am now working across other areas that will continue long after my career has finished.”

Beckham was the world’s fifth-highest-paid athlete last year, according to Forbes, taking home $43.7 million in salary and endorsements. His current and past endorsements, include Emporio Armani, Adidas, Electronic Arts, Diet Pepsi, Yahoo, Castrol, M&S, Motorola and Police sunglasses. Beckham, 36, and Fuller are mapping out a long-term strategy that will keep the soccer star’s name in the spotlight — and a steady stream of income flowing to the business partners — once he retires from the game.

As David’s career changes, and his playing days near an end, we will have the necessary time to really focus on the development of our business,” said Fuller. “David and I have a number of ambitious and exciting ideas in development across a broad range of categories. The next 10 years will see David evolve into being recognized, not just as an iconic sports figure, but also as an important entrepreneur.”

Fuller — best known as the mastermind behind the “Pop Idol” and “American Idol” franchises, as well as the Spice Girls — is the chief of XIX Entertainment, which he founded in January 2010, following his departure as chief executive officer of 19 Entertainment, which he sold to CKX Inc. in 2005. Apart from Beckham, the new firm manages the business interests of Victoria Beckham, designer Roland Mouret, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, tennis star Andy Murray and singers Annie Lennox and Carrie Underwood, among others.

A new logo has been created for all of Beckham’s commercial ventures in order to create a uniform visual identity for the brand, whether it be on his own branded products, such as underwear and fragrance, or endorsed products, such as his Adidas lines — which now include a soccer performance range, an Originals collaboration and the youth-oriented Adidas Neo collection.

The mark was created by Alasdhair Willis, founder of Announcement Creative and husband of designer Stella McCartney. It features the David Beckham name in the Replica Pro font, with a circular hole punched out of the script. The hole is meant to reference both a soccer ball and a lens or viewfinder, which can spotlight a product detail or visual flourish on various marketing materials.

The major challenge when creating the brand identity for David Beckham was: how do you convey through a brand mark the sheer diversity of the David Beckham world?” said Willis. “The identity needed to represent the future of the man as well as being true to his core DNA as one of the world’s most respected and talented sportsmen. The identity needed to deliver against all these elements and at the same time be cool, relevant, desirable, versatile and accessible.”

Fuller added the David Beckham brand should be aspirational, optimistic and inclusive. “Even when he faces adversity, he does so with positivity, humility and determination, and his brand will reflect these qualities,” said Fuller. “When you have a brand born out of such distinctive and remarkable personality traits, it has so much more authenticity than a brand that is just conjured up to fulfill a gap in the market.”

The catalyst for the David Beckham bodywear line came following Beckham’s four-season stint as the face and body of Emporio Armani underwear, in a global advertising campaign that launched in February 2008.

I have had the idea of doing a bodywear collection for some time now. The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani,” said Beckham, rattling off some sales figures. “They told me that their gross turnover in 2007 was around 16 million euros [$22.7 million at current exchange] and after the campaign in 2008 it went up to 31 million euros [$43.9 million] in 2008. It proved to me that there is a real market for good-looking, well-made men’s bodywear.”

Beckham added he has already completed some design and merchandising work on the line — and that fans should expect another eyeful of his skivvies-clad, tattoo-covered body when the collection launches, at an unspecified date down the road. “With my team we have spent time working on the fit, the fabric and the style to ensure the product looks and feels the very best and I am hugely proud of the end result. I can’t wait to show people the collection — although I’m not sure my mum will be too happy seeing a billboard image of me in underwear again.”

Asked if he thinks about what the impact of his retirement from soccer will have on his marketability, Beckham was quick to point out that he intends to keep playing for several more years. However, “I would go as far as to say nothing will be affected, it will become even stronger as I have more time to dedicate to those areas,” he said of his eventual retirement from the soccer pitch. “I want to get involved in the process and have an influence over the end product. Whether it’s with Adidas or Coty, I have always worked very closely with them to give my input. I have lots of ideas for my own collections that I’m looking into with my partner, Simon Fuller, but for now my focus is on bodywear and fragrance launches coming later this year. It’s important that with my team we take our time, to make sure that each product is thoroughly researched and then launched with the opportunity to succeed."

Video: David Warming Up Before Galaxy/DC Match

All for the Troups

Even though the Galaxy may be disappointed with the end result of last night's match, it was a special event because it honored local Southern California military men and women. The MLS did this by offering up 1,000 free tickets to the service personel as a huge thank you. Here is a photo David posted on his FaceBook with the following message: "Pictured after the match with a few American troops I met out in Afghanistan on my visit last year...."

Becks is Disappointed with Scoreless Tie Last Night

Last night, the Los Angeles Galaxy took on DC United at the Home Depot center. The end result was a disappointing tied score of 0-0.

Even though David was appointed Captain in last night's match as Landon Donovan was away with USA duties, he still was extremely dissatisfied with the way the team played. "We have to forget this performance," Beckham said. “It was a disappointing performance, no matter who's not playing."

Head coach Bruce Arena wasn't thrilled either: "I think our performance tonight was totally poor," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said, adding that Donovan's absence had "nothing to do with" the team’s poor display.

The Galaxy defense did its job once again though, posting the team’s fourth consecutive shutout and earning a point for the MLS leaders (8-2-6, 30 points).

"Shutting them out was probably the only positive tonight," midfielder David Beckham said.

LA Galaxy News and Notes:

- Arena said Angel picked up "a minor knock on Wednesday" and didn’t recover in time to play in the match but he will be ready for Saturday.
- The team will host Toronto FC tonightat 7:30 p.m.
- The Galaxy announced they will debut a new third jersey for their July 4th match against Seattle Sounders FC and it will be unveiled July 1st at a VIP event in LA.

David Beckham to Wear Galaxy Captain Band Tomorrow

The LA Galaxy will host D.C. United tomorrow (Friday - June 3rd) and they will also honor local Southern California military men and women with 1,000 free tickets.

The Galaxy will once again be short-handed this season with Landon Donovan and Donovan Ricketts participating in the Gold Cup this weekend. With Landon Donovan out of the picture, the captain of the Galaxy will be David Beckham. With Ricketts also playing for the United States, the Galaxy will lean on Josh Saunders to pick up the slack between the sticks as the Galaxy goalkeeper.

This is the second meeting between the D.C. United and the Los Angeles Galaxy. The first match resulted in a tie when the two played in Washington D.C. With this match taking place at the Home Depot Center in Carson, the Galaxy will still have an edge despite missing two of their most important stars.

Juan Pablo Angel will have to step up in this match and give support to Beckham. Chad Barrett is another Los Angeles Galaxy scorer that will need to come to the fore front.

The Galaxy-United tilt is the featured MLS game of the week on the Fox Soccer Channel and the star of the show will undoubtedly be David Beckham. With Landon Donovan away at the Gold Cup, it is the perfect opportunity for the Galaxy to promote some of their other incredibly talented stars.

David Talks Tattoos with Craig Ferguson

Soccer star David Beckham was quizzed by Craig Ferguson last night about getting a tattoo on his manly parts - and didn't completely dismiss the idea! He told the Late Late Show host he's already had "30 or 31" designs etched on his body and wants even more.

Craig Asked David, "Did you get any on your business?" to which Beckham shot back with a: "Not yet." He also admitted that his mother Sandra doesn't appreciate his love of tattoos.

Becks also got to chatting about the President of the United States, Barack Obama. He met him at a dinner in London last week and described him as "amazing". At that dinner, he also spoke with Queen Elizabeth who shocked him with knowing about Victoria's pregnanacy. He said: "Funnily enough she knew I was having a baby in six weeks. It shocked me that she knew. I love the Queen."

David also mentioned the Queen's two famous grandsons - Princes William and Harry. "We have seen them grow up into real men and go through so much into such a short space of time." The Beckhams attended William's wedding in April and even though the trip was an exhausting journey from LA and back again the next day for the nuptials, David insisted the whistle stop trip was well worth it. "It was emotional," he said. "I didn't cry... but I do cry at weddings."

911 Call Says Beckham was Speedy & Driving Recklessly

Soccer star David Beckham was speeding and driving recklessly before he was involved in a freeway crash that sent another driver to the hospital, according to 911 calls obtained by an entertainment website and statements from the California Highway Patrol.

The L.A. Galaxy star was driving a black Cadillac on the southbound 405 Freeway near Artesia Boulevard on May 6 when he rear-ended a stalled Mitsubishi, the CHP said in a statement.

The Mitsubishi’s owner, a 40-year-old Los Angeles resident, had stopped his vehicle in the carpool lane when his vehicle stalled.

Beckham is described as driving recklessly just before the crash, according to emergency calls obtained by TMZ.com.

One caller told a CHP dispatcher the Cadillac was “speeding really bad … all the way from LAX.”

The Cadillac was tailgating and pulling in and out of the carpool lane before the accident happened, another caller said.

Beckham’s 12-year-old son was in the Cadillac, according to TMZ.com.

Neither Beckham nor his son were hurt, and the soccer star was not cited. The driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, the CHP said.
